Tour Rwanda in Akagera Wildlife Park – Eastern Rwanda

Akagera National Park – Rwanda Safari Holidays
Akagera National Park is located in the eastern region of Rwanda. . This is one of the most popular Rwanda safari destinations in Africa in addition to Volcanoes National park that is famous for mountain gorilla trekking and Nyungwe forest for canopy walk and primate tracking.

The park covers over 250 km2 of Savannah, west of the Kagera River, which denotes the frontier with Tanzania. The park has a variety of wildlife and is a habitat for over 500 different species of birds. Akagera is, above all, big game country! Herds of elephant and buffalo emerge from the woodland to drink at the lakes, while lucky visitors might stumble across a leopard, a spotted hyena or even a stray lion.

Set at a relatively low altitude on the border with Tanzania, Akagera National Park could scarcely be more different in mood to the breezy cultivated hills that characterize much of Rwanda. Dominated scenically by the labyrinth of swamps and lakes that follow the meandering course of the Akagera River, the most remote source of the Nile, this is an archetypal African Savannah landscape of tangled acacia woodland interspersed with open grassland. A visit to Akagera Park will always reward you with a variety of activities which include the following;
Game drive
Bird viewing
Nature walks
Boat ride

Akagera national park has a lot of accommodation that are situated both within and outside the park which include;
